Maria loves The Upside Down Show. But, instead of Shane and David, she refers to the stars as Shame and David. Apparently, she likes "Shame" so much that she named her new imaginary friend after him. (Her other imaginary friend is "Um").

Last night, while sitting at the dinner table, she turned to the empty seat next to her and commenced a conversation with her new, corporeal-disadvantaged friend. So, I asked her, "Who are you talking to?" "I'm talking to Shame," she said.

Woah, I thought ... that's deep! Then I remembered, she's only 3.

Hee hee - sometimes they say things to make you think...and sometimes to laugh. My husband was in the backseat of our car, talking to Maeve, our 2 year old, about "variations" on words, and decided to tell her, "Flatulence is a variation of the word Fart.". He then asked her if she could say variation. She looked at him for a moment, and said, "Butt.", then got this pleased look on her face. I almost hit a tree, I was laughing so hard.

Ha! That's funny! They learn early on the power of the word "butt." I love the name Maeve, by the way.
